Latvian Radio Amateur League - a national, public radio amateur organization
The Latvian Radio Amateur League (LRAL) is a national public organization that brings together people interested in amateur radio, radio technologies, and the desire to apply their knowledge in practice. We promote amateur radio in Latvia as a modern, educational, and socially significant field of activity.
What are radio amateurs?
LRAL joins the global radio amateur community, providing a platform for knowledge exchange, training, and joint activities in Latvia as well.
Our areas of activity
LRAL's activities cover a wide range of areas: radio communications in shortwave and ultra-shortwave bands, digital communication modes, radio sports, expeditions, and educational events. We support the training of new radio amateurs, help develop technical skills, and promote youth interest in engineering sciences, electronics, and information technologies.
Public safety
An important part of LRAL's activities is public resilience and safety. Radio amateurs can provide communications in situations when everyday communication networks are not working - for example, during power outages, natural disasters, or other emergency situations. Therefore, LRAL promotes communication readiness, training, and cooperation with other organizations.
